Depending on the season, meals feature fresh local seafood such as Copper River king salmon, sockeye salmon and or halibut, oysters, shrimp, and rockfish. These are served with fresh quality vegetables, home made breads & rolls, soups, and fruit (organically grown ingredients are used whenever possible). Beverages include fine wines, quality beer, juice and milk.
Heather’s culinary touch came from a life-long experience of observing and assisting the chefs of Discovery, and being exposed to the rich foods Alaska has to offer. Her menu is authentically Alaskan, prepared in a way that only someone who enjoys eating as much as they enjoy cooking, can. Having gathered recipes from years of Discovery cooks, Heather has put together an arrangement that features her top picks. Heather also has a particular fondness for baking, and insists on ending each day with a sweet treat.
